S&W M&P: Full Circle?

Hi all,
So it's been a long road, but here I am. In my hands is a S&W M&P 9c. While I love my XDM 9c, I wanted to try out the compact M&P too. So right now I have both. Just picked up the M&P 9c today. First off the trigger on this one, dated end of 2011, is much better than the stock trigger on the other two M&Ps I've had. Not APEX good, but no grit at all. It's a good 6 lbs and maybe a little over, but it's very crisp. The ergos are good. I am still a bit iffy on the backstraps with the palm swells, of course the Small one doesn't, but they might grow on me. Weight feels a good deal lighter than my XDM 3.8. I hope to shoot it sometime tomorrow. If it shoots well it might become my daily carry.

As to the full circle remark. I have owned 33 handguns (some repeats). My first one? An M&P 9mm fullsize. Cheapshooter strikes again. I'd like to remind newer shooters though that as you progress, try out some guns you dismissed in the past. You might be surprised.

I for one am a S&W fan from childhood when i first shot my brothers .357 magnum.

I owned a 9mm fill sized 9mm brushed stainless and i loved it. Fat grips were replaced with slimmer ergo with finger groves. Touched up the sights with bright paint and slept with it...she was my girl.

She was accurate, low recoil and shot the best groupings of any pistol i have ever owned.

Hope you love it like i loved mine.

I think you'll like it even more when you shoot it. I like shooting mine.

M&P

I have the M&P PRO C.O.R.E. in 9mm. It's really a nice shooting pistol. I've installed the J-Point Micro Red Dot and it's a combo that is sized right, shoots right, and not overly expensive.

I am a recent M&P owner myself. Got my 9c last weekend and loved it from the get-go. I was choosing between the G26 and M&P9c and the 9c just felt like it was molded for my hand. I have no regrets choosing the M&P over the G26. I really wanted to like the Glock because of it's proven reliability, but the M&P just felt too good in hand versus the Glock's ergonomics.

What backstrap on the 9c are you guys running? I kind of like the small for the flatness it gives.

Small for me...I have medium sized hands. Small works best for my grip.

Large backstrap here---seems to make the gun point more naturally for me.

Full sized 357 Sig
