92fs for Xd service .40?
Would you do this trade? Why or why not? I have a Sig p226 so I will still have a good quality 9mm. The trade would be my 92fs with three 15 round mags for this guys Service Xd in .40 with all the accessories that come in the big case.

Don't do it. Nothing against xds but that beretta is just a nicer pistol. It should be worth (all things being equal) at least 25% more than the xd.

I much prefer the XD to the M9/92FS. lighter weight, more reliable(in my experience anyway), better safeties(subjective), and no DA/SA confusion while drawing.
with all that said however, I wouldn't make that trade. the 92 and 3 mags is worth double what the XD is on the open market. the XD with all it's goodies is worth less brand new than the 92FS is used. if it was an XDM then it would be a different story but for a basic XD, nope, sorry.

I wouldn't. Can't you keep your 92 and buy an XD? They aren't super expensive, are they? I haven't gone to look yet.
Regardless, I'd keep that Beretta unless it's a beat-up dog or there's something wrong with it.

I would require some cash if I were you. Or maybe a grip of ammo.
Straight up, not a good trade. |

I respect the XD series, but personally believe the 92FS - and the PX4 for that matter - to be far superior.

92FS 9mm for the Springfield XD 40 cal
I have both pistols. I like them both. If I had to chose, I would have to go with the XD. Just my 2 cents. Better yet just get and keep both, then you have the best of both worlds.

Heck No. Who is this Guy? (the one wanting to make the trade) He sounds more like a sharp manipulator to me or a used car salesman.
Why would you even ask? And a service gun trade at that??? As Susie Orman would say; are you kidding me? You need to consider sobriety - just kidding. ![]() Can I make my point more strongly? Last edited by lamarw; March 5, 2013 at 01:18 AM. |

I carried and shot the Beretta for 10 years. Granted they are a tank for what they are. I just think the trigger pull is way too heavy on them. I would trade for the XD.

My opinion of course but the XD Service model is absolutely not worth trading for a 92FS. The Beretta is a better weapon. If it was an XDM it would be a good deal for both but not the standard service model. You would not be getting the better end of that deal.

I have both guns, but would not trade the all steel 92 for an xd, if i only could have one gun it would be the beretta 92, and the fact the xd is a service gun...the value of the trade would be tilted to his favor

I wouldn't do it either. The 92FS is easily modded for just about everything including trigger pull which just requires a quick "D" spring swap. It is a reliable, and accurate platform, and gives confidence. Yes, it is big, but so is a full size XD. Nothing wrong with the XD though.

I didn't do it. I am just now getting into the Springfield xd's. just for clarification it's a service model not a service gun I should have been clearer. Just saw it as an add on armslist and didn't know if it would be good or not. I only paid $425 for the entire Beretta package I have. What about the service model XD with less than 100 rounds through it, all the original box acessories, a stream light tlr-2, and an extra mag, so 3 mags total. Sorry about the questions. I never would even spit in the direction of an XD before the panic buying, but of course when the prices are up the thing grows on me.

I wouldn't do it. I paid $400 for my older but barely used 92FS and there's no way I would pay even close to that for any new XD. It's an OK gun, but I have no love for it, or any other plastic gun.

Alright no need to worry I haven't done the unthinkable! I decided to just hold on to the 92FS and buy a used Glock 21 from Summit gun. I ONLY have ONE 45! I decided to get my Remington R1 a friend that talks as loud as he does! You guys ever had a problem with a Glock 21?
