Largest pistol & revolver manufacturers by number
does anyone have any ranking of the largest pistol and revolver (not firearms in general) producers worldwide? Just out of curiosity, couldn't find too much on the net, though.

All you need to know can be found here:
http://www.atf.gov/statistics/ The "Annual Firearms Manufacturers And Export Reports" are of particular interest.

Thanks, very interesting, two facts sting out in particular:
1.) They have a category each for 22, 25, 32, 380 and 9mm, but only one category titled ".50" obviously comprising everything from .40 S&W to .45 ACP and .50 AE, which is a little bit odd. Maybe the guy who made up the data pattern is very fond of mouse guns... 2.) Nicely, they list even single individuals who have built ONE pistol a year. Long live bureaucracy, not only in the EU, it seems.

Some of those would be home-built firearms that were just registered in that year, so they could be transferred. Others may be one-off firearms that were built by a shop. And, still others could simply be a serial number change/relocation/restoration. Either way, it's all public record now.
