I've held them both, and like both. I've read of a lot of problems with the Solo, and the guy behind the counter said the same.

To be honest, I kind of like the Solo better, but it's a shame that they don't seem to have figured it out.

I've read quite a few things about problems with the 938 too, plus I think the thing is over priced big time. I'd take a Sig 290RS before either one, but I know that's not one you're considering though.

Don't have a Solo, have never seen one "in the wild."

I DO have a P938 and it's not given me a single spot of trouble. I stick to 124gr loads in my 9mm (especially the small ones), and this thing has run 100%. It's accurate, not difficult to shoot at all, and fills my large hands well while still hiding extremely well.

It's replaced a whole slew of pocket guns for me (among them the P238). I don't have any problems recommending the P938.

As far as I'm concerned, the Kimber Solo was DOA.

I have the P938 Equinox. I am quite pleased with every aspect of it. For the price of a Solo, they should be perfect, but I don't think they are.

As far as price, the Solo and the 938 are about the same aren't they? I saw a 938 for over $700 in a shop, I thought the Solo was about the same? I remember thinking the price was ridiculous, because I was actually there to look at a 290RS, which I personally thought was a better gun in most every way, especially in terms of price. Didn't buy it, but remember thinking that....

Would you care to explain what exactly makes it "better gun in most every way"?

No, wouldn't care to explain it. It's my personal opinion, just as I stated in my post, and an explanation isn't required.

Re: Kimber Solo Carry or Sig938

Cant comment on the Solo, but own the 290RS and have shot the 938. I personally like the way the 290 feels and shoots vs the 938. But thats my opinion.

I looked at both last fall and felt that the 938 handled a little better than the Solo, although the Solo was nice also. The Solo had a decent(heavier and long) trigger pull which I could have gotten used to, but I'm partial to SA pistols like the 1911.

Also, the 938 comes with real SIG night sights. Got the 938 and couldn't be happier with my choice. Extremely accurate and 100% reliable so far.

Kimber Solo Carry or Sig938

Kimbers customer service has been reviewed as total garbage often, Sig's is considered one of the best. Take that into account as both have mixed reviews.

Think about the customer service side of it as it appears there's a 50/50 shot you're going to need it.

I've helped shoot both of them literally to death. The Sig is way out front due to metallurgy alone. I would not buy a Solo.
