Who Marked their Revolvers FIE Italy?

As the title states who marked their revolvers like that? I have a chance at a NMA marked like this. The guys says thats the only markings on the pistol and the "FIE Italy" is on the butt. And how did I become the Black Powder guy in these parts? Heck I haven't lived here that long.

I don't know who made it. Need more info. FIE was an importer.

It just has FIE Italy on the butt, and a number 24 under the loading lever. Its a brass Rem. NMA Repro. I may leave it be. I've been reading some of the old posts here most had mixed results. The only Brass frame I want is a G&G Repro from Cabela's.

From what I've been reading it means Firearms Import Export. No one really knows who made them. Pietta Guns are CLEARLY marked LOL a BIG BILLBOARD (< as Hawg say's

) on the side of the barrel FLLI PIETTA.

Like was said FIE was an importer. They imported cheaper guns, Pietta was not one of their imports. Off beat stuff like Com and PR were their mainstays.

I would not pay a lot for the revolver you are talking about. If it is good condition, I think probably 125.00 would be tops. (It is worth that in parts)

Mine has all the proof marks but only FIE on the floor surface of the butt as identification.

It is, as Hawg said, identical in quality to a C.O.M. Sheriff's model I am familiar with. (The previously discussed haunted revolver)

Lol, it doesn't take long for people to pigeonhole us BP guys. Once they see you with something other than a modern inline, you've become the local black powder expert

From what the guys have said, it sounds like the gun you're talking about might not be worth a lot, maybe a starter gun for someone who might be interested in BP but isn't sure. I agree with doc, I wouldn't pay much for it just in case its a wallhanger with delusions of grandeur
