Charter Arms Serial Number?

I have an old revolver that I inherited from my grandfather. It is at Five-shot Charter Arms Target Bulldog in .357 Magnum. I haven't been able to find any serial number lookup to find out what year it was made in. Does anyone have any idea where I can find this out at?

AFAIK, the only way to positively date a CA would be to give the SN to CA's Customer Service & ask.

Call Charter. They should be able to tell you. (Call, don't email.)

I know the current serial numbers have the date encoded in them, but don't remember exactly how.
