Sr40 throws up when fed fiocchi.

I have never had an issue with my ruger sr40 until I shot a box of fiocchi ammo yesterday. At least 3 of 15 would jam up with a failure to feed. Any one else tried this combination before? It shot different ammo yesterday fine just not the fiocchi.

sometimes you just get a gun that is picky about the ammo you feed it. I've seen glocks that wont eat PMC browns, I've seen M9s that can't handle Lake city(Ironically), I have even seen FNs that will only function with american eagle... some guns are just goofy like that. out of curiosity have you cleaned it lately?

Yes I am kinda obsessed with cleaning and lubing after every time out shooting.

I had a Beretta 96 (made in Italy) that did worse than Puke when shooting Fiocchi, but my other guns loved it. If functioned properly, but the rounds seem to have minds of their own when they headed for the target.

I found, long ago, that you may have to find the ammo that works best with each gun you own. Happily, most of mine like cheap Blazer or Georgia Arms "Canned Heat" when punching paper.

I have the SR9c. It shoots the fiocchi stuff great. I bought a box of the nicer hollow points that I carry in it and they shoot fine. 124gr I believe. I also have 115 gr FMJ that look like the same bright blue box and they shoot great too. I even tried out some older fiocchi stuff I got from a friend that is 100gr and has a cone shape to it. It's leadless and comes in a maron box, but even it shoots good. I haven't done any accuracy testing with any of them but they all function well. Guess it may just be a different with the 40 full size version. Also, I did not strip my down and clean it when I bought it, just took it out shooting.

My SR40c would not fire that exact same ammo at all either.

What is the .40 cal lot number? It should be somewhere on the box, backside or inside cover.

everyone likes fiochi in other calibers, in 40, fiochi sucks.

It doesn't work in my p9, pt100, or witness.
every other round jammed.

never used it again in 40.
seems to run in 45 fine.
