I would not shoot the stuff in a P63, The aluminum frame is the least sturdy of all the Makarov chambered guns. Years ago the hot CZ82 load damaged a number of P63s.

I would not use them in an alloy framed 9x18. It should fire alright but would have excessive recoil and wear on the frame something fierce.

There were several Russian 9x18 rounds developed over the years of various weights and pressures, most ranged between 20,000 and 24,000 PSI. The Czechs designed a 69gr load in the early 1980s that traveled at 1350fps out of their CZ 82s that had a chamber pressure of 24,650 PSI. The ammo being reviewed today has a chamber pressure of 24,500 so it's actually slightly under what the Czechs used as their service round
Hello!

I would appreciate it if you could give your sources for the chamber pressure of the Czech 69-gr load, and for your sources for the Russian loads that produced pressures of 20,000 to 24,000 PSI. This is the first time I've ever seen those pressures quoted and of course, on the internet, sometimes actual data is a modifier.

Sure. They all come from the site: http://world.guns.ru/. A gentlemen over at the akfiles translated all the ammo links on the site.

Old thread I know, but did anyone ever do a test of penetration of this particular ammo?

9x18 Mak vs. 380acp

That is like comparing 1st string High School Junior Varsity football players to 2nd string 7th & 8th grade football players. Maybe just alittle bit better.
