I was half asleep last night and had a weird question roll into my head.
Have any Lee press users ever gotten splinters? |

Splinters... like, metal splinters from cheap casting or something?
Hmmmm. 25 years on four different Lee presses, no metal splinters for me. Have you ever gotten hands-on experience with a Lee Classic Cast?

I would assume you mean from the wood handle. Mine is nicely finished so I'm guessing not...

If you are a sloppy loader, you might get copper splinters from those shavings off of the jacketed bullets you pressed into an inadequately belled case, or maybe brass splinters off of the burrs left from inadequately trimmed cases.
Are you insinuating that us Lee press users are sloppy loaders?

Ha ha, I didn't even think about the wooden ball angle when he asked about slivers.
Suffice it to say in the 3 Lee presses I own that came with wood ball handles, and the 2 or 3 cutter "with ball grip" Lee trim tools I have... the balls are finished VERY nicely and I don't think you could get a sliver from one without attacking it with some tools.

Perhaps I should have clarified.....from the wood ball handle.
I don't know where it came from...it just popped in my head. Not on any meds LE-28, was towards the end of a very long day after a big meal. |

I got scratched by Lee Press-On Nails once.
I got aggravated by a Spike Lee movie once. Was entertained into side-splitting laughter by a Bruce Lee movie on several occasions. Bought some of that Jamie Lee Curtis yogurt one time. Almost threw up. Christopher Lee once scared me so badly....Oh...nevermind. |

I have a Lee Single Stage and never had a splinter. I do not think it is very likely.
