Mini-Buckshot

Regarding the little 1 3/4" "mini-buckshot" shells, does anyone know if these will cycle through an Ithaca Model 37 pump okay?

There's no unmodified pump gun these will work in with complete reliability.

Some guns can be modified to operate with them, but this prevents using standard length shells in the gun.
Some people have had fairly reliable operation in some guns, but not enough to trust your life to them.
They'll work just great then suddenly you have a stoppage like a shell turning over backward in the action causing a serious jam or some other sort of mis-feed.

These work well in single and double guns but not in a pump and certainly not in an auto.

I had a buddy with an 870P that cycled these without problems. I didn't think they would, but they did. He wasn't smart enough to do any sort of modification.
Not that I think that is normal, just that his gun was an exception.

Never heard of those rounds. Who makes them? I have double bbl and single shot shotguns that it would be fun to try out in. Are they expensive?

Most are made by Aquila in Mexico and are sold by a number of sources:

These were originally developed for a weird looking pump shotgun that was imported for a short time.
It had a magazine like a pistol in the butt, so it needed short shells.
As I recall the thing operated the opposite of a standard pump gun. You pushed the fore arm forward, then pulled it back to load.
