Newest addition to my CCW Lineup: Kahr CW9

Okay I've had this one for a few months, but just started carrying it last week.

I really like the pistol so far, super nice to carry, and unlike my last small 9mm (Kel-tec PF9) I actually enjoy taking it to the range.

Completely stock Kahr CW9.

I have 500 rounds through it with not a single failure to feed or fire. (300 FMJ range ammo, 200 Hornady Critical Defense)

I did have a couple cases of the slide failing to lock back, during a session of night shooting, but when I was cleaning it back home I found a bunch of grit and some small pebbles inside one of the mag bodies. My theory is the debris prevented the follower from engaging the slide lock. I cleaned it out and haven't encountered the problem again.

I have a DeSantis Double Mag pouch, and a Galco MX7 belt holster to hold everything until my Gun Nut holster gets here.

Also have a crossbreed on the way for IWB carry.

I do plan to get a Tritium Front sight for it at some point, but no other planned changes.

I had a CW9 a couple yrs ago. (I'm on my 5th Kahr now, a CM9) I had no trouble with it, but I just could not shoot that thing accurately. Don't know why because all of the others (CW45, PM9, MK9 and the current CM9) were/are accurate.

I just broke in a new CM9 today. 175 rounds of FMJ's, 25 HP's in three different magazines. Zero failures, 100% pleased. Great little gun.

A really sweet little gun, the only problem I've found with it is my Sister, Mom, and most of my female friends want it...

Just got a PM45 for everyday carry...Love it.
Outfited with laser and Tritium sights.

Pumped about 300 rounds through mine with not a problem.
Untill now I never even heard of Kahr!
A gun friend recommened it. Glad he did. Take it over my Glock.

I am still in awe with the quality of my CW9 for the price; in awe of its accuracy for its size; and how low recoil it has for its weight.

I wanted a PPS when I bought the Kahr, but it is hard to justify considering how happy I am with the Kahr.

I have a CM9, but I splurged on a Hogue Handall Jr grip sleeve. Fits perfectly, and helps get a comfortable grip on that nasty deep checkering. Doesn't affect concealment like I thought it might, either.

I second the Handall Jr grip sleeve. I shot mine Sunday for the first time with the sleeve installed. It adds a little comfort since it has the palm swell and will be staying on the gun.

I didn't say it was easy to get on. I had given up until I saw a used one with the Handall in place. So I decided to rescind my giving up. After I warmed the sleeve in rather hot tap water, I was able to get it on.

The CW9 is a great pistol for somebody like me who likes to go old-school and fire double action revolvers. The CW9 trigger feels a lot like the DA on a Combat Masterpiece or a Heavy Duty.

Where are they made? What kind of warranty do they offer?

And love it. It is my most carried CCW. Options for OWB, IWB, pocket, all comfortable and concealable.

Ditto. Hogue or the Pachmayr, I use both, offer a better grip. The finger bump helps.

I think they're great guns.

Made in Worcester, MA. I was born there, so was my wife (in the same hospital!). We moved out of MA almost 7 years ago, and I never knew of them while I was there- which was my entire life.

It's kind of funny carrying a gun with my birthplace's name on it.

I have heard that their warranty coverage is good.

Our pistol matches are mostly filled with people shooting mid/large frame guns, many of which would never be carried.

Our treasurer decided to try his PM9 this time. That little gun did better than half the others! Even a 30 yard COM wasn't a problem.

The only issue was mag capacity. He had to carry four mags IIRC. I may try my K9 when we have a fun match.

I've had mine for a few years and have carried it a bunch. For some reason I was crazy accurate with mine.

One thing you should watch for is the trigger. The trigger pull is IMO, very light and has no stacking. When carrying mine I always felt it wouldn't take much to have an accidental discharge. Just saying.

Just wish Kahr would make a metal flush baseplate for their CW pistols.
