CZ 550 set trigger problems
I have a CZ 550 .308 with a single set trigger... yesterday while shooting, the trigger started failing to fire the gun from the set position. It would simply click back to the unset position without firing... if I continued to pull the trigger from the unset position, it would fire (with a heavy trigger pull).
At first, I could re-set the trigger and it would work the second time... but after a few times, it quit altogether... Any ideas? Thanks... -Bear |

The trigger is set too light. It appears that as the trigger breaks in it gets smoother/lighter. Adjust the trigger tension screw. The one in front of the trigger not the one you have to pull the action out of the stock to adjust. I believe turning it out increases poundage. Can't remember off the top of my head and the book doesn't say. I had my "new" 527 trigger set at 6 oz. After a couple of range session it started not always wanting to set. I increased it to 12 oz then back down to 6 and it now sets every time. When it wasn't setting all the time it would break as soon as I put the scale on it so I have no idea how light it actually dropped to.

Yeah, I think so... so far, so good, anyways...
It seems that if the trigger pull 'un-set' is too heavy, (mine was at 6 lbs), the trigger 'set' will not release the sear... I adjusted the trigger pull down to about 4 lbs, and it seems to be working fine, now. Thanks! -Bear |

I have a set trigger on my 527. The other guys beat me to it, the main trigger pull has to be under a certain pull weight, otherwise the set won't work.
Amazing guns. |
