Kalashnikov Video

Hey guys I found this 25 minute documentary (well a news documentary) by RT about the Kalashnikov. I thought it was pretty interesting even though RT (a Russian news agency) was completely biased towards Russian weapons compared to the American weapons. Still, it is a pretty entertaining video. Thought you guys would enjoy it.

Good ol' spetznas, the only military force that loses more personel in training than they do in real combat.

Even Puzikas(former spetznas) recently shot his assistant instructor doing a low light shoo with no light.

To be fair, the weapons documentaries produced here by networks like the History Channel or Discovery often slant things unfairly in our direction, too. For instance, I recall TV programs making the claim that the F-14 was the fastest fighter jet ever, or that the largest, most powerful helicopter ever produced was the CH-53.

At 5:40, the "Elite Special Forces" unit is rolling around, sweeping each other with the muzzles ..... I stopped watching. If your elite troops train to point their guns at each other willy nilly ..... what does that say for the conscripts in the rest of the Army?

Propaganda exists in every country, regardless, it was an interesting watch.

In regards to rifles around the world I've often had the opposite experience. In numerous shows on history/military/discovery channels, foreign weapons are often put in front of American weapons. I've seen a couple shows where the AK was ranked higher than the M16 or the Enfield and Mosin Nagant above the Springfield. While I'm not saying that American doesn't exist (cuz it sure as heck I does), I had have a problem with how much propaganda was in this little video. The biggest one that bothered me was the Russian Arms museum expert saying that the US loves the Saiga shotgun so much our police forces are adopting it. I could be wrong but I have never heard of a police department using saiga shotguns (except for Sons of Guns' Masterkey)

There is no way those soldiers are spetnaz but the majority of the film is about the AK and Kalashnikov, not guys playing soldier. You keep watching, not for tactics but the history of the weapon. At least that's what I did

I am pretty well versed in the history of the AK rifles ..... I doubt if I'll pick up anything new from a TV show playing a bunch of bumbling reservists off as Spetznaz ....

I'am surprised that most of the factory workers are women. I enjoyed the video.
