'73 Front Sight Extra Tall
My '73 clone shoots really high at 50 yards, like about 10 to 11 inches. The back sight is bottomed out. Does anyone know where I can find a 3/8" dovetail unfinished front sight. I used to see'm on occasion, usually for a BP rifle, but can't find one right now.

Brownells or Midway. You might as well just go ahead and get the right height front sight with a bead insert.

If you are partial to the Rocky Mountain front sight, you might try Dixie Gun Works.

I've used the Brownell's blank front sight to build custom sights.
It blues very nicely. http://www.brownells.com/rifle-parts...r_1=Unfinished Unless these have changed, the actual sight is not as rough as the picture. |

Skinner Sights also makes/sells a Patridge-type square post front sight blade of .650" height, designed to be trimmed w/o thinning.
This sight measures 1/2", side-to-side, meant to fill an entire barrel dovetail, for sights mounted directly in the bbl, ILO on a ramp. http://www.skinnersights.com/front_sights_5.html . |
