First hunt with smoke pole

Took my ML along with my Savage 220F to a farm I hunt yotes at yesterday. Wasn't sure id actually use it but I figured the chances were better if it was in the blind instead of the safe.

Damn phone.

I took four with the 220 then decided to pick up the wildcat. It took a while to line up a clean shot but finally got one broadside at 125yds.

Can't post pic from phone. I'll throw one up when I get home.

Thanks. I'm actually enjoying knowing I won't get a second shot. It's helping me take better shots with shotgun and rifle.

Nope ;-). The farmer wants the yotes to leave his calves alone and I use it as practice for deer season. Yotes go in a hole at the end of the day.

TC Shock Wave 250gr ahead of 100gr 777. Near as I can guess, the large hole was from shoulder fragments being blown out. Regardless, it did the job.

How manageable is the recoil? I have only shot the shock waves with 80grs of 777.

Recoil isn't bad. My Wildcat is extremely light so it's a bit worse than a heavier gun. It's comparable to a 12ga or a .30-06

Did you have to adjust much for drop at 125 yards?

I've got it sighted in 3" high at 100 yards. It hit right about where I aimed
