Unless it's a question of your state's law, I don't understand why you would unholster your weapon while drive. I carry my revolver in an OWB Don Hume worn crossdraw at the 10:00 o'clock position. It carries very comfortably and is and easier draw from a seated position. Carrying in that position also requires far less movement to draw my weapon in case of a confrontation.

3:00 or a bit more to the front in IWB holster. However I have a cheapie nylon air-soft holster that fits perfectly between the driver's seat, and center seat of my Dodge Ram. A Taurus Judge Public Defender Poly rides comfortably in it quite often in addition to what ever I have on me.

In between the seat and center console of the Yukon and anther in the center console.no hassle with the lift of the shirt and I can quick draw to the right and left easily.

Why would you take your gun off for short trips???
guns stay on me 24/7 in car. If I ever go long distance the only thing I would remove would be my magazine pouch. Gun rides 3oclock |

^ Two possibilities come to mind. Comfort and access. Depending on the interior layout of the vehicle and type of seats involved, a pistol anywhere but cross draw, could be pretty uncomfortable and/or downright inaccessible.

Driving around on bald tires and worring where your gun is...... is like chainsmoking and eating triple bacon cheeseburgers in a full bathtub while juggling two running blowdryers..... and worrying about drinking diet soda because the artificial sweetener might cause cancer......

I would not recommend going without seat belts, for the simple reason that there is a way bigger chance of needing your seat belt than there is of needing your pistol. |

With the kind of work I was doing, it ruled out just about anything but pocket carry or thunderwear, so my carry gun was not terribly accessible when I was sitting in the vehicle. |

i keep my 1911 at 4' o clock, it never leaves the holster. i dont feel the need for a BUG in the car, as i usually keep one on my person. theres been a lot of vehicle break ins and guns stolen outta cars around my area.

It stays in my pocket. There is another in the console beside me.

I'm with Marv. One in my front pocket, one in the console, rifle under the flip-up rear seat.

Just bought a S&W 327NG, may swap out my Sig with this for the cup holder spot. 8 rounds of .357 should be enough

Cup holder? Not secure in an accident, unless you have some unmentioned retaining system.

I have one in my pocket as well. And if some situation occurs where the other guy in the accident is a bad guy and he stumbles out of his car and picks up my Sig that was thrown from the wreckage before I can grab my BG 380 well then sir it just wasn't my day. |

I saw the photo in 39; I can't make out any retention system.
I would worry less about being attacked, post-wreck, than about being carted away by ambulance, unconscious, and having an eight year old find a loaded gun in the grass by the roadside. |
