cleaning a gas gun, ugh...

my 1100 LT-20 prepared for a thorough cleaning! Compared to a Beretta the 1100 is a snap, as far as gas guns go...

gas guns ...??? I have plenty of Gas ...just no gas guns ( at least not in shotguns - thank you very much ) ....

(no, I'm not going down that gas gun path ...and you can't make me do it ...)....

I only have to clean mine to that degree about once a year... unless we go swimming. I would gladly do it 20 times as long as I don't have to shoot an inertia action gun. Oh, or a long recoil one.

not to worry, the gun is being retired to wall hanger status, really. I'm building a shadow box for it and displaying it in my home office. Sure beats a framed picture. My new Franchi Affinity 20 gauge will fill the void...

Yep. So far I only have the 870 and the Cirori XS Skeet. I am taking my son and a couple of his friends shooting for one of their B-Days. I wonder if my wife would think that a reason to buy an old 1100. It seems that life isn't complete if you never owned one. I am deprived (or is it depraved).

Why ask her for an 1100 ....when you could ask for one of the upper end Beretta 391's or a Benelli Super Sport ....if you're going to ask for forgiveness, aim a little higher there buddy ....geez....

I like that thinking. Then I can get a used 1100 for a throw in the back of the car extra back up gun.

FIELD REPORT: Here's what I posted on SGW, for what it's worth...

this will be easy. Today was the first time I shot the gun. Central Penn Sporting Clays, York County, PA. 100 total rounds using two boxes of Remington 7/8 target loads and two boxes of Federal 7/8 target loads. All were #8's. From the very first target to the last, the gun functioned flawlessly. I used the supplied IC choke tube which was totally effective on the course, on every target. I was pulling my own remote control targets and not scoring hits or misses, but I know I broke over 80% of the targets. I'm satisfied with the Affinity 20 and recommend it highly.

Now, regarding the problem of feeding the gun and injuring your thumb, which was reported by a few here at SGW, Randy!! I have no clue what they/he were talking about. No problems feeding the gun what so ever! It was flawless, but maybe had something to do with the ammo I was using.

The gun in black synthetic retails for, I believe $899. I bought the gun locally for $659! A great deal with no regrets.

Some of its major attributes:
- quality build
- lightweight 5.6 lbs
- durable
- able to cycle all loads
- easy to shoot
- lightning quick inertia action
- easy maintenance
- cost
