Good price for High Power and S&W 19-3?

Hi guys. I found 2 pristine, I mean mint condition pistols in the same shop today. One was a 1971 Browning Hi Power, blued that looked unfired. Price was $800.

The 19-3 was same condition, pre 68 I believe with the diamond grips. $675 I think.

Did not enquire about boxes or any of that, so I don't know. I am thinking of trying to make a deal for both. What is a fair price for each of these? From what I can tell these may be, but I want to be sure. Thank you.

Can't say for the hi-power but if it is indeed in pristine condition you are in the right neighborhood for the 19-3, although I would offer $600 out the door and see is they bite.

The Model 19-3 is one of the more common M19 variants, with a production run that spans a decade.

If the gun has the more common 4" or 6" barrel, $675 is towards the top of the value range. At this price point, IMHO the gun should be in legit 95%+ condition, with original numbers-matching stocks (i.e. grips); the numeric portion of the serial number should be stamped under the RH panel. A factory box, factory wood presentation case, nickel finish, and/or 1/2"-wide Target hammer and trigger and oversize Target stocks- known as "3T's" in conjunction- would help justify the price.

If the gun has the less common 2-1/2" barrel, it is worth ~$100 more in equivalent condition; I would not necessarily expect the extra "goodies" for this price but I would expect >90% condition.

However, I basically agree with sarge83- if it's not something like, say, a legit LNIB nickel "3T" gun in a factory presentation case, I would try for $600 or less. The average holster-worn 4" blue M19-3 with the standard hammer, trigger, and Magna stocks, and no box, is IMHO a ~$500-$550 gun, period.

FYI you can buy a brand new Hi-Power for $849.00 in my area. I would offer $700.00 and see what happens.

Ummm a Nice Model 19 probably shouldnt cost more than $500. And thats a real nice one. They are NOT that uncommon... at least in my neck of the woods. Last one I purchased has some holster wear on the barrel, and the cylinder $300. Ummm I dont know that the 19-3, or any other 19 was offered with diamond grips.

$800. for the Browning seems a tad high too... But if it's a nice one... Maybe.
