I've heard mention of half-sized paper/cardboard IPSC targets, for rifle training when your range situation limits you to 25-50 yards.
Anyone know of a commercial source for such targets? I've scanned the online catalogs of a couple of big target vendors -- Speedwell, for instance. Nothing. At least not online. Have not phoned. Thanks for any help you can offer. [Edited by mib2000 on 03-22-2001 at 01:50 AM] |

You might try this site:

Arntzen makes very nice T-1 steel 1/2 size IPSC targets. They are actually about 1/3 to 1/4 the surface area of a full size. Pistol rounds splatter off the steel harmlessly if you 50 feet away. The rifle would wreck the steel eventually. A pistol caliber carbine would not hurt the targets.
The price is less than $20 each plus UPS. I made stands of scrap wood from construcon sites for mine. After a few thousand rounds a I burn the shot up stand and hammer together a new one in a few minutes. The steel comes with a 1/2 inch hole drilled for hanging with a 1/2 inch bolt. 1-800-821-3475 |

Great tips -- thanks a bunch!
I should have mentioned I'm specifically seeking paper/cardboard half-size IPSC targets this time. Will be checking out steel, too, though. |
