You know you're a gun nut when the cop down the hall yells "Hey Gun Nut, come here I got a question for you" and you are the one he is talking to.

Happened just last week, I swear.

You might be a gun nut if your cousin that you rarely talk to calls you up and tells you to stop by his house because he has something and you are the only one he knows that can use it. When you get there, he hands you a box of 9mm.

Happened yesterday, I swear.

Or your wife didn't find your Glock in the freezer. (and it was there and she was looking for it, couldn't find it, stopped looking and cooked dinner instead.)

One wrap of white paper'll hide a multitude of grins.

Sorry to bump, but this thread most certainly deserves it.

Oh yeah, you might be a gun nut :

If you are registered on TFL

If those two words are in your TFL username.

If March 29th is marked on you calendar.

If you are in the LGS as often as the supermarket

If 90+% of the JPEGs on your PC are of guns.

If you have ever cleaned a gun(s) while in bed.

If You posted on this thread.

You may be a gun nut if your gun lays in the bed with you while you sleep

True, but that only counts for years that end in a 1

You might be a gun nut if you do not work in a gun store, but coworkers and customers are always seeking your advice

You may be a gun nut when you go to the LGS and ask the salesman if he has anything you just can't live without and he replies: "Nah, you have 'em all unless you are wanting duplicates."

Yes, that did happen to me.

You ARE a gun nut if the cost of the spare magazines for the guns you DO own equal or exceed the cost of one or two guns you would like to own.

Yep. . .I am there.

Totally did that one too, but with cars. I terrified my wife (gf at the time) because I woke her up reciting numbers at a frantic pace, oddly random yet organized. Whoops - firing order of a Chevrolet small-block (1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2).

Am I a Gun Nut?

I was walking through Wal Mart the other day and one of the clerks said " Hey, you have a 7.62 x 39 don't you? We have some ammo we need to sell cheap." I didn't know the guy and I have never bought that caliber at Walmart before.

The boxes were damages and I got it at half price.

Also, the clerks often just toss me the key for the ammo cabinet and tell me to get what I want and pay for it up front.

If your next build or purchase revolves around an obscure gun part or accessory that you randomly come across, i.e., a spare charging handle turns in to another AR15 build, or a cool holster that only works for Springfields leads to a brand new XD...

..you might be a gun nut.

If you post gun want ads on local forums

If you have 2 or more guns on layaway at any given time.

If your wife searches the Internet looking for guns for sale in your area.

If you will drive 2 hrs to go to a gun auction even though your broke at the time

If you have a Christmas gun fund stored in the gun safe and know exactly what you are buying yourself for Christmas. But have no ideas for what to get the wife that do not include ammo, guns, shooting gear, or weapons training.

You might be a gun nut

If you look at a sign that says "Rutgers University" and you immediately think "Rutgers is Rugers with a cross in the middle."

...then you start calling Rutgers University "Holy Rugers University"
