Shooting mat

In my desire o learn rifle shooting positions, I thought that is look for a good shooting mat that doubles as a rifle carrier. I like the voodoo tactical kit for $170 with fre shipping.

I'd appreciate your thoughts about mats and or voodoo tactical.

Thanks
John

The mat sold by the CMP is a decent entry level mat. Kinda cool at the gym for Yoga, so I have been told, or overnight visits from Grand-Kids when there are more bodies than beds.

Not exactly what you are looking for, but you did ask for suggestions.

Look at www.creedmoresports.com for their shooting mats. Use the other $100 for a cool tactical case.

I have a voodoo tactical dual rifle bag, and this mat from midway: http://www.midwayusa.com/product/169...ter-olive-drab

Not a combo unit, but my opinions of each:

The bag is nice with lots of storage. The mat works well, but the pads are black and get very hot in the sun. Choose the color wisely.

I have this bag in coyote tan: http://www.voodootactical.net/p-27-v...eapon-bag.aspx

It is just long enough to handle a 26" barrel shotty at 26" barrel short action bolt rifle.

When I was actively completing, I had a plastic exercise mat I got at Goodwill for $5.

Now I just lay on the ground.

I had excess high traffic carpet from renovating my game room. I cut it to what suited me and bam - shooting mat.

I bought the Midway mat, does what it needs to do at a good price.
I keep it in the trunk of the car, figure if I ever break down, get a flat, etc on the side of the road it'll come in handy and I won't have to sit in the dirt. I debated one that doubled as a carrier, but since I don't ever use it beyond going from the car into a range, I figured a hardshell case w/ the range bag worked best...but I if had to trek thru woods, etc. I would have gone with the carrier.
