I've just picked up a burgess shotgun which is highly engraved; it has quail, snipe, woodcock and grouse on the receiver and is engraved in most other parts. I was just wondering if anyone knows where I can find any info on the Burgess site or Gun Co. There must be a web book with some info for me. Disassembly instructions would also be nice. I seem to remember an article in a gun magazine this past summer but can't find it. Does anyone have info? Ken Drover Burlington, Ontario Canada

Burgess Gun Co, Buffalo, NY, 1892-1899. Purchased in its entirety by Winchester in 1899. Winchester withdrew the line from the market. Chapter XIII, Flayderman's Guide to Antique American Firearms (7th edition).

i read years ago about the fellow who designed the Burgess pump gun. i guess his name was Burgess. I do remember that he met an untimely death while demonstrating his shotgun. I don't remember any details but good shooting...Dick
