I will chip in.
If I am correct a whitetail is about the same size as the fallow deer we have here.
Hard to beat a 130g Speer Hot Cor, Hornady Interlock, Sierra Pro Hunter or similar over a charge of around 54g of H4350 (which is known here as AR2209) with a standard primer. You should work up to this load from a couple of grains below. It will fix up a deer. |

57 grains of IMR4831, 130 grain Nosler spitzer bullet, CCI 200 primer gives you 3039 fps out of the muzzle and makes a tack driver out of my Remington 700. My best advice, purchase a good reloading manual and try to find a friend who handloads to help you get started.
