i got to thinking in the next year or so with all the shootings an fear i thought if they do a assault weapon's ban what happens? i was in kindergarden when the first one took affect. so do they take the guns? or does it stop production on all future firearms? cause i was tossing around the idea of trading my AR an gettin a Mini-14 with extra mags an ammo.

There's not going to be another ban anytime soon. No they're not going to take your guns. If you want to know more, all currently suggested legislation is under discussion in the Law and Civil Rights forum. As such, discussion can continue there.

If you want a thread about swapping your AR for a Mini, feel free to start one.
