Gun Cleaning Talk

One of my favorite parts of the shooting sports is maintenance and cleaning of my firearms. What are your favorite cleaning supplies? My favorite these days is Ballistol and Glunslick foaming bore cleaner, etc.

Let's talk gun cleaning and maintenance.

Disposable chop sticks are one of my favorite tools. I whittle the ends for particular uses, one is for pushing patches through the barrel, one for pushing out the take-down pin on a Sig P290, and one for cleaning slide channels.

I also always use gloves, which is more often ridiculed than discussed. I am using vinyl now because solvents eat disposable latex. They are, however, slippery and I'm watching locally for higher grade latex.

As for solvents I'm rather basic, FP-10 and a wire brush.
