The best way to privately sell a rifle?

I was planning to sell my WASR 10 to cabellas to fund some reloading gear, but one of the guys suggested selling it privatly in stead. Iv never done this other than between friends, so what's the best way to go about it? Gun broker or guns america maby?

Also unsure what price to ask. Its a romanian wasr 10, I got it new (well, as new as they come) and put maby 700 rounds through it. It has a few minor scratches, and I have the original laminate stock and handguard as well as an oliv drab tapco folding stock and handguard. Had issues with the top rail on the tapco which resulted in a super glued on nut being cut with a hacksaw and gougeing up the plastic pretty good. Also has an ultra low profile side mounted pickatany rail from kalinka optics, 120 bucks or so if I remember. Have bayo and 2 mags.

Thanks guys!

I use the local newspaper classified ads.
If you are in a small town use the paper for the nearest big city.
I'm not familiar with that gun but unless it is a full-auto, selling a gun privately is no different than selling any other item. That may vary with some state and local laws.

You can also post it for sale here on the forums. I have sold quite a few using that method. Or going to gun shows and walking around with it slung over your shoulder with a price sign on it may work.

Gun shows. Take it to a gun show. Buy a wooden rod/dowel and make a flag with basic info and price. Wear the gun around on a sling with the info-flag sticking out of the muzzle. Just make sure you price it below what any dealer is selling the same or similar gun for - if you put a good price on it, it will sell. I'd much rather sell guns somewhere other than my house.

no matter the method, do your research, and make SURE that how you decide to sell that rifle, is legal in your State and location.

Realize - that if you sell it to someone quickly who is a retailer, he needs to ,make a profit and thus he will offer you about 65% so he can sell it at 100% of blue book

If you want the most money you eto sell it yourself

I know in Virginia, we have a forum called VA Gun Trader where people who are residents of the state can post up for sale ads and sell guns privately to each other. It helps avoid having to pay fees to Gun Broker, as well as the hassle/cost of shipping to FFLs in another state.
Your may have something similar in your state...
