I have a CZ Dan Wesson CBOB in .45ACP and four Sig 1911s (a TTT (similar to the one you have listed, but mine is a reverse two-tone), a TacOps, a RCS and a traditional compact stainless). The Sig 1911s (IMHO) come fairly close to the same build quality and detail that Dan Wesson uses (The Dan Wessons though are a tad bit bit better in their refinement to detail and quality than the Sigs, but good enough for me (YMMV)). The Sig Tuo-Tone Match Elite you listed would put a smile on my face, if I owned it. Though some do not care for Sig 1911s, due to the slide contour, but since you are getting a traditional model, that doesn't apply here and also that all Sig 1911s (Sig style or their tradition line) all use external extractors (some folks can't get over there dislike for an external extractor on a 1911 (doesn't bother me a bit)).
As to a Dan Wesson model I would pickup if I didn't already have my current CBOB, would be a Stainless VBOB .45ACP (since Dan Wesson doesn't make the CBOB anymore). The price on the new VBOBs don't come cheap though! ![]()

I'm glad that you like your Sigs but there is little comparison between the quality of a Dan Wesson and a Sig. We are talking about a hand-fit gun vs. a production gun with parts that are put together "within tolerance". Both companies can make a gun that runs well but these guns are on different playing fields.

Lmfao dimelo hermano!!! Estoy esperandolo. I have that in line, a commander and a full sized SIG 1911.
The commander for sure though will be a Dan Wesson. CCW. Taurus will be carried and night stand (that rail is perfect for a TLR-1) and range gun. The full sized SIG will be carried and range gun. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using Tapatalk 2 |

I like that Sig your looking to buy it has the traditional slide instead of that funky Sig slide, good choice, watch and see, you'll probably take the PT1911 out more then the rest.
By the way have they killed Fidel yet in Miami ?? You know how to punish a Cuban driver ?? you disconnect the horn, echale. shoot safe, shoot straight, and have fun |

Lmao. Yeah heard that one before.
That's funny you mention, the SIG I was looking to by was a no go. It's another SIG 1911 the XO now instead. But it's okay I don't mind too funky. That PT1911 will come out more than the others? ¿Cierto? I'll have to see about that. Thanks man. Will do Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using Tapatalk 2 |

My old one is a 1976 blued Ltwt Commander and the new one is a 2008 stainless Combat Commander. I don't get all wrapped up the "Series 70 vs Series 80" argument that some Colt fanciers go on and on about. To me, the triggers on both are real good. The Ltwt IS a little snappier in recoil, which is to be expected. But again, it's no big deal. I really enjoy shooting both. They're accurate, reliable, and well-made examples of what a 1911 Commander should be. I'm a very happy guy. |

My first handgun (well, my first gun!) was an early stainless Colt Combat Commander, bought back in 1989 after reading a review by Mas Ayoob. It has been totally reliable, though I haven't shot it heavily over the last several years. It ate everything, even the old Speer 'Flying Ashtrays' without a bobble.
The pistol is well over a thousand rounds (not many, considering I've had it over 20 years, but through the '90s, it was shot a lot!) and is still on the original springs. Funny thing is, I got so used to it, a full 5" GM feels strange...
