1 Turkey-5 beards-1.5" spurs....
Didn't know turkeys had more than one beard......got this in an email today. Acquaintance got it last weekend.

I wanna shoot me one of those. Anyone know what percentage of turkeys have multiple beards?

A trophy bird indeed.
Over the years, I've killed probably 25-30 turkey's. In that amount, two had double beards. I saw one being checked in that had three but that's the most I've ever seen in person. I'd say with confidence, a 4-5 bearded turkey is very rare. |

My wife shot a triple beard with 1" spurs last week.
She was pretty pumped. ![]() I told her it was like shooting a B&C deer or elk. I have added pictures of hers. We did not notice it being a triple until we cut the beards off. Last edited by reloader28; April 28, 2012 at 09:50 PM. |

It is not real rare to have a double beard, but rare enough they are trophies. 5 beards is real rare, really nice bird you got congrats.
