New Kahr p380

I finally took the plunge and bought the p380. I know it's old news but some are still going insane deciding on which true pocket gun to buy. I have an lcp and have been eyeing the p380 and sig 238 for a long while. I mainly went with the p380 because of dao and smaller than sig. So far I absolutely love this pistol. I only have a 100 rounds of 95gr american eagle( dirty stuff) through it and it has been flawless(I didn't even clean the gun first). My lcp has been great but it's not that fun to shoot, the p380 is a blast. Very accurate, good sights for 380, and smooth trigger. The pistol is tight but it will chamber a round by slingshot method if you acually pull it back all the way and let go, works everytime for me. I think the build quality is definately much better than ones priced lower but most of the time you get what ya pay for. I still feel the sig is a nicer built pistol but it is heavier and slightly larger( still want one of those too). I talked myself into this one as I was against it in the past but so far I am very happy I did. I will report on this once I get a few hundred through it, will probably chrono some and do some handloads.

Liking my p380 also. Mine definitely prefers the hotter loads. Have never had a malfunction with Speer 90 grain Gold Dot jhps or Corbon 90 grain +p jhps. Great trigger, great sights, very accurate.

Congrats on your new purchase. Am a Kahr fan but haven't handled a P380 yet.

I carry my LCP daily in the spring & summer, but might look at a P380 eventually.

You are correct that the little Rugers nip the hand a bit when shooting much at the range.

Am currently having fun with my new CW45, which will replace the PM9 for cool weather carry - the 9mm was gifted to my oldest son for Christmas.

Wow, nice gift to your son. Congrats on your 45. If you don't plan on shooting the .380 very much the lcp is a nice piece and will serve you well.

Got 240 rounds through it now, has run flawless with american eagle and magtech JHPs. I am going to try some more JHPs through it soon as I get to buying some. LCP is going to my brother. I'm loving it

What is your serial number prefix? The early ones were known to have various teething issues. If yours is a newer one it may hopefully mean Kahr's finally gotten all their ducks in a row with this model. I may end up getting one myself if I hear enough positive reports about them.

The P380 is a nice little piece, but I'm sticking with my PM9. It's still the benchmark that all sub compact pistols have to aim for IMHO. In the winter I shift over to my HK45C.

Serial number prefix is "RA", hope that helps.
