I'm looking for a 20 gauge load with 1 oz of shot in a Win. AA.

I've been to Alliant's website and it doesn't list a 20 gauge load for Red Dot, though it's description says it can be used for 12, 16, and 20 gauge loads.

Any help is very much appreciated.

They don't have a recommended 1 oz load using Red Dot.

That's what I've been finding out. What do you think about Herco or Unique?

20 gage Red Dot Loads

Re the above, Red Dot is listed for 20 ga, loads, not all, but a number of them.

I refer to content in Reloaders Guide For Alliant Smokeless Powders, 1996 edition. This booklet was a freebe, avaialble for the asking. Alliant's toll free phone number is, or was, as indicated in the booklet 800-276-9337.

Good luck in your search. Red Dot works very well, in 45 ACP also, especially with 200 grain SWC's.

Red Dot is too fast of a powder for that heavy a shot charge in 20 ga, it would be better for a shot charge 3/4 oz or lighter. If you want to stick with Alliant, Herco or Blue Dot is what you are looking for, but both will be very dirty. Longshot is a new powder from Hodgdon that works very well in heavy 20 ga loads. It burns very clean and meters well through the grabber.
A plan is just a list of things that doesn't happen.
