SIG 1911 reassembly problem
Trying to reassemble my dad's blackwater sig 1911: we put the barrel in and the guide rod, then line up the frame/slide rails and it wont "lock up" this is creating a small gap between the bottom of the slide and the front of the frame. any help would be nice.

Is the swinging link tucked forward?

As you move the slide to the rear, there is a small lever that must be depressed to allow the slide to move to the rear far enough to reassemble the take down pin. Look at part 28 and 29. The slide must go over that to correctly assemble.

Definitely need a photo. It is possible that the slide stop pin missed the barrel link (post 32), and it's also possible that the firing pin safety lever is up and stopping the slide from moving fully to the rear (post #4).

Sounds like a series 80 gun, I've had that little pin get in the way a couple of times
