Some people mentioned Swiss rifles.

Have any of you guys watched Youtube videos titled "420 yards", done by a guy in so. CA?

He also used a Swiss K-31 to hit a gong at 1,000 yards, with 'iron sights'.
Try searching "1,000 yard Swiss" etc, and tell us what you observe.
You can hear a few bullets hit the gong.

He even zooms from the small gong back to his position, and also traces it with Googlearth.

Depends on whether you're counting type or just number of units. 'Types' might be close to 50-50. 'Number of units' - well, it's hard to complete with the sheer number of what's now military surplus produced by government arsenals during warfare.
