Installing a 3 position safety
I'm just wondering how much trouble an M70 style 3 position safety would be to install on my Yugo M24/47, as they are kinda pricey to begin with. If I need a smithy then I will just live with my bueler (beuler?) safety.

There are several bolt sleeves (aka bolt shrouds) for the 98 Mauser that incorporate the Model 70 type safety. They are available from Brownell's but they are not cheap, running $150 to over $200. Plus, Brownell's says gunsmith installation is required, and I second that unless you are both very patient and very familiar with the way that safety works.
Incorrect installation could make the rifle dangerous. Unless you are going "whole hog" on a sporterizing job, and money is no object, you might be as well off to stick to that Buehler safety. Jim |
