S&W model 10 refinish options?
I have a well used model 10 that I picked up. It is functionly solid good lock up and timing. But it must have someone truck gun or something. Quite a few rust spots with some pitting. annd just looks like heck. I have used some fine grit sandpaper to to remove the rust and keep the bare metal well oiled for now.
It is a good shooter and I would like to get it refinished. I see S&W offers a beadblast blue finish. I am thinking something like or having parkerized. I don't think duracoating it would would work very well. Any other choices out there Last edited by Whirlwind06; September 24, 2011 at 03:05 PM. |

Any plated finish, or ion-bonded finish will hold up better than bluing.
Parkerizing is a good, inexpensive finish. |

I don't care about "looks"
It is so easy for me to recommend service and finishes from www.apwcogan.com AND www.robarguns.com
I can personally recommend both Mr. Cogan's hardchrome and Mr. Barkmann's NP3. NP3 is my current personal favorite finish. Still.....
