Down south (US), are FR8s much scarcer than Enfield "JC"s?

If this were the case, it might be worth considering trading one of my authentic Jungles for another nice FR8, but only if it were FTF (in person).

I have both types.

Persobnally, unless you just "have to have" an FR8, I would keep the jungle carbines.

I think the JC's have a bit more value, not a whole lot but some.

I've looked a few FR8's, they do have a certain cool factor.

Thanks, and I already have an FR8.

A guy in n.w. AR has a "pending trade" anyway, and he wants to trade his premium FR8 for a #4/Mk. 1 as it is.

But they are basically rehashed modified M43s. Every FR8 and M43 that I have ever handled seems to have a sloppy, loose bolt and mediocre workmanship. They certainly never seem to be up the standards of a typical German, Czech, Austrian, Polish or even Yugoslavian 98

Main reason I haven't bought one, I do like the fact that they digest nato ammo, I keep that stacked to the ceiling.

But with an extended, higher front post, achieved by having a friend cut off a spare sight post and glueing on a taller (2mm extra?) roll pin, you can easily use the 200-yard aperture at 50 to 100 yards.

In stark contrast, the Yugo's open sight (and my lack of skill) is why my 48A Mauser is for sale, FTF only.

For some of us, aperture sights are the only way to go, even the unique HK type. The FR8 has much of the appeal of an
Enfield "Jungle Carbine", though heavier, but in a more standard caliber, and without the risks of a CETME assembled by Century.
