Question on .40S&W load

I've been shooting 180gr JHP in .40 with 4.6 grains of 231. I don't have a crono yet. I was wondering if anyone else used 231 for this, and what you thought.

A loading manual would be the best source of estimated pressure and velocity for your load. I happen to like Metallic Cartridge Reloading. The Hodgdon Data Center is an excellent online resource as well.

Your load sounds about right, with the caveat that you should check it against the component manufacturers' data to be sure.

I looked at all my manuals. And went with Winchester data. I was wondering if anyone had personal experience with this.
