3rd Biggest Hog To Date A.R. 7.62x39
A few tuesday's ago was one of my most stressful days ever. I was either going to go to the gun range and unload a few boxes of ammo or go hog hunting. Glad I went hog hunting. End result my 3rd biggest pig to date.
![]() Where I hunt there are wood lots and open fields. The hogs, 95% of the time, hang up in the wood lots. I was traveling from one lot to another and this porker was smack dab in the middle of an open field, as you'll see in the video. He didn't seem to be in a hurry. Idiot actually worked his way toward me. Game over. I knew this guy was big so I double tapped my first shot. I started running toward him intending to drop one in his head but he presented a chest shot, the insurance shot as I like to call it. Click Here For Video As you can tell by the smile on my face. Stress Gone!!! |

Hey Zen, what load, ie mfg, slug type, weight, etc, you zapping these hogs with?????
Bamaboy and me have killed whitetails with the x39 ctg, all with a 135 gr Sierra PSP handload (slug no longer in production). Heaviest buck went 185 lbs. YOur hogs kinda indicate the 7.62x39 will handle big game up to 300 lbs, at least once anyhow!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
