Centennial 1960 new model army

I came across this while going through my grandfathers stuff after he had passed. It has 4293 stamped on the bottom of the gun and is made in Belgium. Gun seems to be in excellent condition. I dont really need it so i was wondering what it may be worth and where to sell it. Thanks in advance for ant info.

You have an unusual and very well made replica. I happen to own two of those myself. There is a collector's organization with a web site devoted to the gun: http://www.1960nma.org/. They call themselves the Friends of the Centaure Society (FROCS). They'd love to hear about your gun and add it's characteristics to their archives.

As for selling it, I suggest you post an ad in the classified section of this forum; look up near the top on the first page of the thread listings.

Value for a very good condition 1960 NMA (or Belgian Cenature, as it's sometimes known) will be somewhere between $325 and $375.

Your #4293 was made ca. 1965. Does yours have a plain cylinder or is there a naval scene engraved? What is the barrel marking? And what are the inspector marks on the left side of the barrel & frame and on the cylinder (* over letter sideways). You see I am getting all excited. Could you download a data sheet from our website, complete it with the data of #4293 as good as you care and mail it to me at wolf@1960nma.org, ideally with a couple of digital pics. In return I'll let you know what I can about your rare pistol.

Depending on variation and condition I have seen some Model 1960's bring in the area of $500 on Gunbroker. Research what variation you have on 1960nma.org. You well reach the largest audience listing it on Gunbroker.

The cylinder has the naval scene engraved on it. The inspector code is "S". What do you mean by the barrel markings?

Like "1960 NEW MODEL ARMY" CENTENNIAL TRADE MARK roll-engraved on top of the barrel.

That appears to be a 2nd variation with cut out for shoulder stock. Made in 63-64?

Opinions are like some other body parts / places, everybody has one, HOWEVER:
I think your 'buy it now' price of $300.00 was quite low. If you were willing to take a starting bid of $200.00. I would think that pistol is worth quite a bit more, but I am not that knowledgable on such items.
