S&W Model 18-4

Located one with holster wear on the front barrell as well as the exjector rod, Howerver the cylinder was nice and tight; the barrel rifling very good; pinned; recessed with a serial number from the open cylinder strap consisting of K and four numbers which I do not remember.

Might anyone know approximately when this was made? Approximate value given the dirth of information I have provided?

The S&W Model 18-4 was made from 1977 to 1982.

The model 18 is a great little gun. They have been going up in price the last few years. It`s hard to say how much it is worth from your discription. Depends on how much holster wear. Assuming 85-90% I`d say $350-$400.
A really nice one might fetch $600+ these days.
They are outstanding shooters. If you can get it at a reasonable price, go for it. You will not be disappointed in how it shoots.

Here in my model 18-2 made in 1963. The pearl grips don`t really look all that good on a blue gun in my opinion. But they are real pearl grips, not plastic, so I`ve never changed them out for original style grips.
