Any brands or models of 1911 (non custom, compact) that feed all types of ammo.

My wife has a SS Taurus 1911 and a WartHawg that will only feed specifc types of ammo without missfeeding horribly.

My wife hates glocks and anything not cast in the 1911 style, including most of my favorites (Sig).

We both CC everyday and she could use a compact 45 with 6 -8 round capacity, what do you recommend?

Springfield. XD or 1911 they feed everything. I've come to this conclusion and I carry mine daily.

There will be certain guns from any 1911 manufacturer that won't feed all kinds of hollow points.

The term "Compact" has a specific meaning for 1911s. It means a three inch barrel and a shorter grip frame (one less round). Colt Defenders/New Agents probably have the best reputation for feeding in a short barreled 1911. Not sure where your wife carries, but most guys can carry a Commander length barrel (4.25 inches) which would widen the field a bit.

+1 on Springfield. Good quality, excellent customer service, whats not to like? And reasonable prices.

My wife mostly carrys the Taurus 1911 with the 5 inch barrel, but a inch or two shorter would probably be easier for her small frame.

Don't know what Colt did when they reintroduced the WWI 01918 but the one pictured at 5-6 o' clock in the photo works with all brands of ammo from 180 to 230 grain bullets HP or ball:

BGutzman,

Based on my experience, you need either a progressive feed mag, or a Colt Hybrid mag. The best mag I have ever used is a Chip McCormick with a Checkmate follower; all my 1911's make that smooth, fluid, "schaaalk" sound when the slide closes using this particular mag, and feeds anything, so far.

i carry iwb in a tuckable, and the colt defender carries very well. the new agent might be even better; nothing to snag.
the other one i like is the springfield emp9 (emp40 too) the emp40 is basically the same size as the springfield ultra compact 45.
