What are your times to fire...

Just curious what everyone's time to fire is...the time only counts if you are able to hit the target.

Pistol
from drawn and aimed?
from open holster?
from concealed holster?

Rifle
from aimed position?
from port arms?
from slung over the shoulder?

from drawn and aimed?
0.1 seconds (yes, 1/10th of a second, that's my reaction time)

from open holster?
0.8 seconds (8/10ths of a second) Don't let anyone fool you, it takes a LOT of work to get there once you make the one second mark (which takes a lot of work too).

from concealed holster?
1.15 to 1.20 seconds, depending on the concealment garment.

Rifle:
Don't have any official times, but compared to others on the firing line it wouldn't matter

In my younger days back in the 1990's doing a lot of IPSC shooting, I could clear a competetion holster and get a (.45 ACP G21) round on an IPSC target at 7 yards just under 1 second (.96-.98 sec) from a random beep in my timer. It took alot of practice to break the 1 second barrier. Now I can do a CCW holster under a jacket at 1.6 seconds on average from a cold draw. Let me do a few draws and I can get it down to 1.5 seconds. I am 62 now and was in my late 40's then. Over time practice will keep you proficient.

I've only been timed once on "draw and fire from concealed". I was 1.5 seconds.

Never particularly done any of the others.

The rifle from slung bit, I can tell you that a deer can disappear faster than I can fire, however fast that is. Pretty darn fast.

From an open holster, about 0.75 seconds. From concealed (sport coat as a cover garment), 0.9 seconds. From concealed (untucked buttoned shirt), about 1.5 seconds.

I'm one of the faster guys from the draw at my local IDPA matches. Problem with me is that I'm also one of the worst shots from concealed

I need much more live fire practice; most of the time, I practice my draws and reloads, in my man cave, with an empty gun and magazine.
