The pistol grips are sort of fun for the first 3 rounds, then they become a pain. They don't absorb the recoil, they concentrate it and place it at the interdigital web between your thumb and index finger.

Most indoor ranges will provide you with "eyes and ears", but the out door ones will not.

Get el cheapo ammo, unless you are actually competing, then get the value packs...
The value packs ARE the el cheapos..............

OP - as for trap/skeet, shot size no LARGER than 7-1/2, payload no LARGER than 1-1/8 oz is the typical limitations. Remember, shot sizes are inverse to their number - that is, the smaller the number the larger the shot. For trap and skeet, 7-1/2, 8, 8-1/2, and 9s will be the legal size and the ones allowed. Use your longer barrel for these games

Also, if any of you guys have shotguns, please feel free to post on this thread and share pictures, I would like to see them.
I know we where talking about Mossberg's but here is one of my 870's. Please do not make this a Mossberg vs Remington thing.

Nice gun, but too bad it's not a Remmy 870.

JK, there are so many Rem Vs. Mossy threads here it gets kind of ridiculous. They are both fine shotguns IMO, so enjoy your new buy and welcome to the boards.
