First Model Hi-Standard Sport King
I am looking for the tear down and reassembly instructions in .pdf for a first model Hi-Standard Sport King with the Pushbutton, no hold open on last shot model. I have the parts drawing and parts list, just not the assembly instructions. I can field strip it, but have never tried a total take down to individual parts before on this gun. The gun is very tired and needs some TLC after about 7000 rounds total over the years and age.
I want to replace the springs, firing pin and extractor with Bobs - http://www.gun-parts.com/histandard/ - Power spring replacement kit and the firing pin / extractor. POWER SPRING KITS. Return your Gun to the Factory power Specifications. Replace Weak, Broken, Bent, Rusted Springs. Hi Standard .22 Pistols $25 Front Push Button Takedown Models State the model, Flight King/field King etc Recoil Spring, Firing Pin Spring, Extractor Spring, Slide Lock Spring, Trigger Bar Spring, Hammer Spring, Sear Spring, Magazine Catch Spring, Takedown Spring. I also want to get a set of new grips since my son cracked the orig ones (see picture of the right side at the screw)when he assembled it after cleaning it. He tightened down the grip screw too much and the stress in storage over time cracked the grip. The grip issue and magazine issues are very confusing, you almost have to be a Rhodes grad to understand the nuances of all the different changes over the years. 1. Will current made magazines from the New Hi-Standard company work or am I relegated to using Triple-K mags? 2. Are there new made grips for this older model Sport King? If so, can you please provide some sources? I have checked the following sites so far for info and help: e-Gun parts (could not make heads nor tails of the new site) I have a Named Push Button Model and have NO clue what the model NUMBER is such as model 100, 101, 104 etc. and I am not sure what HS parts are interchangeable. http://www.gunpartscorp.com/catalog/...spx?catid=8430 Bobs gun parts - Will be getting the power spring kit and new firing pin from there. http://www.gun-parts.com/histandard/ John Stimson's High Standard Information - http://www.histandard.info/ - this is a fantastic site but very confusing to a non collector of Hi-Standards, my gun is a shooter and I am not familure with the histories and collector issues. Any help will be appreciated Last edited by UpandAtIt; February 28, 2010 at 12:11 PM. |

Check here for grips:
http://www.gungrip.com/searchresults...=high+standard Good luck. H-S pistols are full of little tricks and traps for the beginner, but if you understand the principles involved you shouldn't have many problems. But keep a record of how things come apart so you will know how they go back together. And keep the work area clean so parts will not be able to fly away then hide out and laugh at you. Jim |

Thanks for the link. Sadly I am finding nobody makes or has the grips for the sport king w/o the right side slide release. They all have a notch for the slide release and are about 1/8 of an inch off for the screw hole center. they over hand off the front.
