As Ronald Reagan always said, "Well...."

Folks,

There is a guy on Gunbroker who has an ASM 1863 in poor condition for somewhere around a hundred bucks. Looks like most of the pistol is there but any parts replacement will be problematic as I have learned. This could be another excellent candidate for restoration. But a hundred bucks is too steep for me considering the condition of the pistol.

My inclination would be to offer him less off line once the auction ends (if it ends without any bids) but I have an ethical problem with this. (I agreed to abide by gunbroker.com rules when I signed up.)

Just some additional info....

Tnx,

Finished

Just got done drilling the frame for the grip pin. I went back to toilet screws for the pin. Turned it down to 9/64 Now the grip stays put.

The original pistol did not have this feature. I absolutely do not know how the grips stayed in place. maybe the shape of the grip or something.

Anyway the pistol is finished.

It'll be for sale on Gunbroker tonight.

Thanks for readin my posts.
