I had four on me as my top. XD40 on the hip with reload other side of hip. BersaCC 380 in and a .32 revolver in front pockets. On left ankle was a .38 special.

But usually I'll do either a XD40 or 45 on my hip with one or two reloads on hip. And the .38 special in my front pocket with a speedloader. I feel well armed in case something wicked my way comes.

Around my house I usually downgrade to just the large pistol on the hip.

At all times I carry a MINIMUM of 3 firearms with an extra clip for all. When I carry more than 3 ... it's only one extra. A revolver.

So I carry My Smith and Wesson Sigma 9mm.. Cheap and Reliable Firearm. Over 3000 rnds through. With Various munitions and NOT ONE JAM.. A couple FTF but that wasn't the GUNS Fault.. crap ammo equals crap shooting... So that is my Hip Holster Firearm w/extra clip.

My Shoulder Holster Gun is either the Para*Ord 14-45 .. which is 14 rounds of 45 acp. MY MAIN CARRY GUN. It's Beautiful. I love it. My favorite range firearm too.

And my FINAL Back Up Piece is my Beautiful KAHR P380. Ankle. Usually no extra clip with it. Unless I have a jacket and it's just thrown in on an inside pocket.

Those are my 3 all the time carry pieces when going anywhere there is a perceived threat to me or my family.

When I decide to carry a 4th firearm, which isn't often I will take along my Ruger 454 Casull Super Alaskan Redhawk loaded with 5rnds of the 454 Casull and 1 rnd of 45LC.. don't ask WHY.. haha I just do it that way...

Yep.. so that's just how I am.. I like my Guns, and My Guns like me..

Sometimes i carry bug gun instead of extra mag, and it does give a warmer fuzzier feeling.

You guys' are paranoid! I've never carried more than one and two speed loaders. If I need more than that, I need a rifle.

4!
I'm not gonna judge, or say you're wrong for your desision to carry 4. I believe what a man chooses to arm himself with is an important and also personnal desision.

I'm simply gonna ask why? Why 4? I'm not "baiting" ya'll into being forced to explain yourselves, or "defend" your posisition. I'm simply curious, nay, I'll say I'm eagerly currious! Why so many? I can clearly see the need (or idea) for a BUG. I myself carry only 1 w/ 2 extra mags. But what's the need for the BBUG, or BBBUG??? Are you packin some seriously unreliable weapons? Wouldn't you be "more" prepared for war on the streets with all that space being taken up by extra extra extra extra ammo? I'm just lost. You can go your ENTIRE life and never need to use the first gun even once. But you'l spend your entire life carrying 4? I don't think the "better safe than sorry mentality" aplies here. Do you who carry 4, train religously w/ all 4 from these positions conceled all over your body? After first drawing each in your particular order and doing failure drills? If you do, I'd love to watch! I swear to you I'm not trying to be contensious, these are just the things running through my head when I think about this. Like I said I'm confussed.

And by all means guys I'm ALL ABOUT being prepared for a spontanous zombie attack 24/7...
Perhaps I'm partial to only one gun because it's a 1911...and a .50cal

Why do I carry 4?? No it's not internet chatter haha.. sorry.. no it's real.. One reason is because.. well the AREA in which I live in is HIGH CRIME.. and I am not willing to take the risk of DYING because I am white and passing through a black neighborhood on a friday night with my wife and 3 daughters.. Another reason is.. Because.. 1 isn't enough.. 2 isnt Feasible.. 3 is perfect... 4 is ON RARE OCCASIONS.. I believe different scenarios call for different weapons.. I shoot for the IDPA. And you wouldn't believe the type of scenarios and what you might need for what could happen when something is occuring..

Yes 4 is kinda excessive .. Note why I said 3 is what I normally carry. My 1911. My 9mm High Cap. and My back up Ankle gun(380ACP is a perfect round for backup in case you run out.. 32ACP doesn't have enough KNOCKDOWN ... IMO) .. IN NO WAY is that in MY EYES Excessive. A little Heavy at times.. but then again.. I am Big enough to carry that load.

But then again everyone's opinion for EXCESSIVE is different.. I know someone that Carries 1 Firearm.. He has a Class 3 license... and carries a S.B.S. (Serbu Super Shorty 9 12GA) Says that's all he needs.. and he's probably right..

I just prefer to have my 3 on me at all times.. My wife was brutally raped. I have been Mugged 6 times.. I have been stabbed and I have been shot at COUNTLESS TIMES.. So maybe that is WHY i developed the need for 3 or more Firearms on me... Call me Crazy.. Call me Excessive...

I CALL ME SAFE !!!

Holy...! If you can afford 4 guns you can afford a few bus tickets brother! I haven't heard of a white guy living in an area that bad ever. Better to live in a box on a beach in Southern California or Texas and work at Mickey-D's than live in uhhhh, wherever.

In my mind if you need more that one and a spare mag (say 20 rounds) your second better be a rifle, preferable with a big mag in it.

Also, excepting failure, which I don't worry about at all anymore, wouldn't it be smarter to carry more reloads for a reliable gun than more guns? I mean, I could carry like 3 spare mags in the space it would take to conceal another whole pistol.

And to answer the question, I don't carry concealed, I live in Fairbanks so I don't have to hide and it is not exactly the crime capitol of the world anyways. Also everyone else does so I count on them!

Affording 4 guns is nothing.. In fact including shotguns and rifles *bolt action and Assaults* I have 16 firearms.. ohh wait nope 17.. if I include the Black Powder Revolver that I have never used, loaded, or barely looked at.. Old hand me down from Gramps when he passed...

I live on the OUTSKIRTS of a Major Metro Area. My home is within a GREAT AREA.. Pretty low crime rate.. but we (as in the Family) make pretty much weekly trips in and out of the HIGH CRIME RATE area.. just driving through to get to whatever destination we need to.. be it a WalMart or.. Museums.. heck anything...

It's just downright dangerous and I am not willing to risk it.. YES I could carry more ammo/mags.. for 1 gun but that's grabbing and reloading when I could just Unholster and take down the acquisitioned target...

Say for instance.. I am facing a group of 6 ... I have my Reliable.. 14 rounds.. 45ACP.. let's just say for instance I miss on 3 shots for moving targets and hit doubles on all 6.. Now.. 6 are down but these guys buddies show up because I just popped and killed 6 of their "homies" Instead of risking time for re-load, I unholster Hip 9mm and Have 17 HydraShoks * 2.. 34 rounds.. more accurate ammo.. So now I have taken down all perceived threats.. I am on the phone with Local Police requesting back up .. Time.. 5 minutes away.. More are coming.. I got 1 clip left.. 14 rounds 45ACP... That Ankle Gun with 7 rounds in it.. just became a LITTLE BIT MORE APPEALING given the time frame for the Police to show up.. Doesn't it??

This is just a scenario.. Never actually happened but one of the scenarios we ran through on one of our Bay's at an IDPA Comp.

I am just saying... HIGHLY UNLIKELY TO HAPPEN.. But needed Just in Case...

And Yes, In My Pickup and in the Wife's SUV when we leave we bring An AR-15 with us.. on a Just In Case Scenario...

I am a Gun enthusiast ... I have a LOVE for shooting.. but when it comes to my life or my family's lives .. You better believe I will take down anyone that threatens their safety and well being.

Once again.. 3 firearms.. is NOT unreasonable for carrying at any given point...

My post was sarcasm.

But 4? Even 3? Eh I understand the whole, "I want to be ready" but even 3 is a bit much.

Here in New Mexico the rules are only one concealed gun allowed with permit.

Most often, one; sometimes two. Once carried three just to demonstrate it could be done. But one is the norm.

In the land of T-shirts, shorts and flip-flops CC can be a problem. The .25 ACP is with me always. The S&W 469 stays in the truck with a B/U mag. That's my common carry.

If I have to go to 'the cities' like Miami or Orlando I'll add in a detective special, Mini-14 and .243. The rifles may not be concealed but could prove to be useful, you have to be there.

Ok...Ok...Ok...
This has gone far enough... I did't wanna "go this route" but...
I've been in combat 3 times and never had on me more than 2. <----- Nuff Said.

That unlikely scenario, you admitted was unlikely, 'the deuce' is just that...unlikely. So much so that it's a "never-gonna-happen" scenario. From the sound of it you took out a battalion or two of "gang bangers" in their own neighborhood. Urban warfare doesn't go that smoothly for me and my Marine buddies, what makes you feel so confident? Definitly a case of too much movie watchin goin on here.

And what I can't understand... You say switching to your BUG is faster than reloading (debatable- but I'll go along for arguments sake) But what I don't get is... you carry spare mags for you second gun!?

not trying to make light of your situation. if you live in a hell hole like that with a wife and 3 daughters you need more than guns and ammo so i will pray for you as well. i know there are bad neighborhoods and dangerous areas in this country but i had no idea people lived in areas like you do by choice. if i had a wife and 3 daughters living in an area like that my first response would be to move to a safer place and i mean today, right now and at all costs. obviously you have the means to live in a safer area. there is no way i would allow my wife and daughters to live with that kind of danger even if i had to sell all my guns to do so.

Well I guess my post reflects the maximum, not the usual. The guns in the car are BUGs. The one in the pocket and in the bag are considered CCWs. The bag has checkbook and meds etc... which I carry if I am out of the house for more than an hour. These latter two are usually carried one or the other, but, may have both just because I did not take the time to leave one out of my accessory grab for an outing. My rationale is to assure there is a defensive firearm closeby if needed.

There is no such thing as a safe place. Trouble can be anywhere. And bad people are everywhere.

Well, go sell all of your guns then, because there is the potential for danger everyday, no matter where they are, or where you live, or where they go to school, etc...

so i will pray for you as well.
Oh, well everything should be okay then.
