when was my s&w 686 made

6 shot and i want to know when it was manufactured

Post the details, including barrel length, exact model number (eg: 686-3) & serial number in the S&W serial number search thread:

For privacy, replace the last three digits of the serial number with xxx.

One of us with the Standard Catalog of S&W will then be able to give you approximate date of manufacture.

smith 686-4 4in 6 shot 357 mag serial # is brs69xx chrome / polished finish

also my dad has a 686-2 6 in when was that made
