My understanding is the the Ruger 22 magnum had a fair number of mechanical complications and that it was phased out several years ago. I've never had the opportunity to shoot one so I can't attest to whether or not there were a lot of issues, but I know they no longer produce the rifle.

I saw a Remington in my local gun store just a couple weeks ago brand new. Nice looking little gun.

I can't comment about the Marlin though.

Discontinued, but if you can find one, you can resell them pretty easily at Rimfirecentral--

Its a shame, but Ruger could never get the 10/22 Mag right out of the box-- they can be made very right if yo have the ducets for to shell out on them...

I love .22Mags-- hopefully someone can get an auron right for them-- ie COME ON RUGER!!!

The only one's I could find new were Remingtons and Excel's. The excels look neat and I hear good things. http://www.excelarms.com/acceleratorrifle.html

Good luck finding one on a shelf though.

Remington 597 Magnum

Edit: Magnum Research also makes (imports??) a semi-auto 22 mag rifle.

I like that Model 597. The Magnum Research rifles look a little too far out there for my taste...

Been wanting a .22 Magnum semi-auto for a while...

Magnum Research 22 mag rifles look like Ruger clones except for the stock and bolt handle.

The Magnum Research and Volquartsen rifles are Ruger clones. Both companies manufacture rifles that are arguably better than a Ruger. There is no argument that they cost more. In the case of the Volquartsen a lot more. They are manufactured in 22 WMR, 22 LR, 17 HMR and 17 HM2.

The 10-22 Magnum was an awesome rifle....change the barrel out and it becomes a .17HMR semi-auto !

They do pop up used and bring a good resale value.

I have shot thousands of rounds thru mine...no issues...except finding enough ammo now !
