Ammo registration?

I was told moments ago that starting the first of April we will be required to fill out a form to buy ammo. Now this person was told this (supposedly) at my area's premier gun shop. I told them I didn't think it was true but that I'd check. So is there something to this or is it a dealer trying to drive up his sales? I can't think of anything like this I've heard.
