What make and model? They are all different. For a thorough cleaning inspection the barrel comes off, the bolt comes out, the slide and bars are removed and the trigger group is dropped out on a Mossberg 500/590. I don't know what you got to send you in the right direction. from now on try being more specific in your questions for better responses. Also you could utilize the search function... In the 10+ plus years this board has existed most things have been covered.

Beyond this forum (and others), disassemble instructions can be found on Youtube, the manufacturer's site (look for manuals under services) and the standard publication, Firearms Assembly : The Official NRA Guide to Rifles and Shotguns

Download the 1300 manual from http://media.winchesterguns.com/pdf/...anual_om_s.pdf for well illustrated step-by-step instructions.

"One of the advantages of a Model 1300 is the ability to
disassemble the action for cleaning. Under very harsh
weather conditions and in dirty environments just knowing
that parts are clean and lightly oiled can add an extra
measure of confidence to your shooting experience.
Make sure you have a clean place to work and a good
place to put the components as they are disassembled..."
