Another vote for 2400,W-296/H-110. These are the only powders you should be considering for 240gr bullets from a 44Mag handgun.

Anyone have any experience with Power Pistol in 44 Mag with a 240gr lead bullet?

WW296 or Hodgon H110, but ONLY with: Heavy bullets, magnum primers, heavy crimp and full loads. EXTREMLY accurate and powerful.

IMR 2447

Been thinking about trying some H-4227, though.

Have never used anything else in the .44 mag (SBH)

Yep, my go to hot load is 23.5 grains of H110 and the 240 xtp. I only use H110 for hot stuff and I use 2400 for everything else.

My new pet load is now 25.0 grains (WARNING, this is .2 grains over Max in my 7th Edition Hornady Manual, work up to this load if you try it) of H110 under a 240gr XTP with a Magtech Primer firing off the whole works. More powder (in my guns) doesn't make for much velocity increase after this point, so that's where the line is for me. No pressure signs, and it's darned accurate.

My favorite midrange load is a 250 grain RCBS Keith SWC over 10 grains of Power Pistol.

In fact, PP has pretty much replaced Unique for me in most cases.
